Like a whole bunch of fabulous aussies, I am a big supporter of fellow Australian artists and Australian businesses too. By buying local, I not only support the Australian economy but also minimise the carbon emissions associated with the transportation of goods. This ties in nicely with my own art practice which I am constantly trying to improve from an environmentally-conscious angle. I do whacky things like paint my brushes out onto new canvases or use baking paper for a palette rather than a traditional wooden palette for example just to keep the acrylics out of the waterways. Perhaps I should share a blog post soon about the modifications I make to be a more eco-friendly artist?! But I digress!
